I am qualified with a Bachelor of Business (Agriculture) from Marcus Oldham College, Geelong, Victoria.
I have worked and managed large agrarian properties in the Riverina of New South Wales, the Western Districts of Victoria, in Northern Tasmania and most recently in the South East of South Australia. These stations and farms ranged from large pastoral properties running merino sheep and shorthorn cattle, to diversified properties with prime lamb production, beef cattle, broad acre cropping, both dryland and irrigated, and irrigation of crops and pastures by centre pivots. I also have viticultural cropping experience that has combined well with my love of South Australian wine.
Agricultural and environmental Government support services are sometimes required. I have experience engaging with these important stakeholders. Recently I was responsible for liaising with Natural Resource Management (NRM) staff to initiate a 3 kilometre watercourse revegetation project, currently being implemented in the south-east. It was enthusiastically received and attracted NRM funding for fencing and planting.
I am passionate about sustainable farming practices including the ethical treatment of stock and farm animals. The creation of a healthy pastoral environment and stress free livestock is a key to happiness on Your Farm.
